Mary C. Boyce Announces She Thought “The Strike” Was about Bowling This Whole Time

In a recent university-wide email, Provost Mary C. Boyce admitted to some misconceptions she held about the recently ended labor strike, saying that she thought the phrase ‘Columbia Strikers’ referred to “perhaps a new undergraduate club” and that “the ten week ordeal was somehow metaphoric–perhaps about nine or ten pins.”

Despite owing to her misgivings about the Student Workers of Columbia, Boyce has not promised to apologize for her previous interactions with the strikers. She did, however, finish her statement by saying that she “loves bowling” and hoped those withholding their labor enjoyed “their spare time.”
