Ever since my freshman year, I’ve had a special romance with JJ’s Place. In all my times of direst need, I was able to head down there, sweat my head off in a line for 30 minutes, and walk away with a burger as black as the vacuum of space.
However, there was always a limit. While JJ’s arms were “always” open for me, it needed some alone time. My 5 A.M. breakdowns about my chemistry class had to occur elsewhere, and I think this was good for our relationship. But now that JJ’s is open for all hours of the day, its comforting atmosphere has become a little smothering. Sure, sometimes I need some fries to accompany a tough night in Butler, but I don’t need to procrastinate during my physics all-nighter by going ham on the Coke Freestyle machine at sunrise.
Unfortunately, it seems to be only a matter of time before my spark with JJ’s inevitably fizzles out. I will always treasure what we had together, and I hope you find someone who treats you well for all 24 hours of the day…
